Dr. Olivia (Chen) Toyama is an Associate Professor at Kyushu University, specializing in superconducting electronics research. Her work focuses on developing novel superconducting devices and circuits for quantum computing applications.

Christopher Ayala (S'07-M'13-SM'20) received the combined B.Eng./M.Sc. degree in 2009, and completed his Ph.D. in 2012 from Stony Brook University, New York, USA in Electrical and Computer Engineering. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at IBM Research – Zurich, Switzerland.

From 2015, he was with the Institute of Advanced Sciences, Yokohama National University, Japan where he was an associate professor. Since 2024, he joined Atlantic Quantum where he is now the Head of Cryoelectronics while holding a Visiting Professor appointment at Yokohama National University.

His research interests include: quantum computing, emerging circuit technologies, superconductor logic, NEMS-MEMS, transformational compute, and electronic design automation.

Dr. Ayala is a member of The Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP); Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan (IEICE); Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE); Eta Kappa Nu Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society; and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
