Dr. Olivia (Chen) Toyama is an Associate Professor at Kyushu University, specializing in superconducting electronics research. Her work focuses on developing novel superconducting devices and circuits for quantum computing applications.

She has published numerous papers in top-tier journals and has been actively involved in international research collaborations. Dr. Toyama is committed to advancing the field of superconducting electronics and fostering the next generation of researchers.

遠山 オリビア（チェン）は九州大学准教授で、超伝導エレクトロニクス研究を専門としています。量子コンピューティング応用のための新しい超伝導デバイスと回路の開発に焦点を当てています。

トップジャーナルに多数の論文を発表し、国際的な研究協力に積極的に関わっています。超伝導エレクトロニクス分野の発展と次世代の研究者育成に取り組んでいます。

Christopher Ayala (S'07-M'13-SM'20) received the combined B.Eng./M.Sc. degree in 2009, and completed his Ph.D. in 2012 from Stony Brook University, New York, USA in Electrical and Computer Engineering. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at IBM Research – Zurich, Switzerland.

From 2015, he was with the Institute of Advanced Sciences, Yokohama National University, Japan where he was an associate professor. Since 2024, he joined Atlantic Quantum where he is now the Head of Cryoelectronics while holding a Visiting Professor appointment at Yokohama National University.

His research interests include: quantum computing, emerging circuit technologies, superconductor logic, NEMS-MEMS, transformational compute, and electronic design automation.

Dr. Ayala is a member of The Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP); Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan (IEICE); Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE); Eta Kappa Nu Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society; and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
